Introduction of Jama Masjid (Mosque)

Jama Masjid is also known as Jumma Mosque.  Jama Masjid is built in 1424 during the reign of King Ahmed Shah and this is the very oldest mosque in Ahmedabad. Jama Masjid is located in the old city in Ahmedabad near teen darwaja and opposite to bank of Baroda(Mahatma Gandhi Road). and if are you in Ahmedabad and want to see this mosque then here is a map to help you to reach out there.

When you enter in this mosque first you can see a big lobby and then you can see the courtyard of this mosque. Also, you can see the prayer room. on every evening people come for Namaz at Jama Masjid.

Jama MosqueThe Jama Masjid is Built with yellow sandstone, also the masjid has a rectangular courtyard 75 m long and 66 m wide.  The prayer room is the east side of the masjid and covered by four domes in Indo-Saracenic architecture. All the domes carved in different style some of the carved like a lotus flower, some of like Jain temples. On the center of the mosque one tank is built for ritual ablutions.

We have visited Jama Masjid on winter session at 9:00 AM and at this time the atmosphere of Ahmedabad is very cool and we took a cab for reach at these place from our hotel at Novotel. Its take half an hour to reach these place because of its located an old city area in Ahmedabad. when we reach manek chowk we feel this area is very Less space are because of its old Ahmedabad but when we entered in Masjid ohhh its huge space and very amazing atmosphere in this masjid. then we sent some time in this mosque and take some photos and know the history of the Jama Masjid.History of Jama masjid
