In the latest edition of World Heritage Sites in India, there are 38 World Heritage Sites listed by UNESCO. Also, the first time in India, Ahmedabad was declared as the World Heritage City on July 8, 2017. India has lots of places who exist a list of world heritage sites. Also over culture help me to build this type of Places. Don’t wasting your time lets see which are the places who become world heritage places. And here you can see UNESCO world heritage sites.

1) The historic city of Ahmedabad
Ahmedabad is located in Gujarat state. Ahmedabad was declared as the World Heritage City on July 8, 2017. And the reason behind this is traditional streets and traditional houses of Ahmedabad. Ahmedabad is well-structured city and in Ahmedabad Hinduism, Islam and Jainism most people live.
2) Taj Mahal, Agra
Taj Mahal One of Seven Wonders of the World. Taj Mahal was built by Shah Jahan for a memory of his wife Mumtaj Mahal. Taj Mahal is also known as Mumtaj Mahal. Taj Mahal is located in Uttar Pradesh. Taj Mahal builds cost is 32 million Indian rupees and build in 1653. Taj Mahal is also the best example of Mughal architecture worldwide. Also, this places is an association with the heritage of India.
3) Sun Temple, Konark, Odisha
Puri is the nearest town of the Konark sun temple. In the 13th century, this temple was build in Odisha. This sun temple was built by king Narasimhadev around 1250. This world heritage site in India reflects the traditional style of Kalinga Architecture. Kalinga Architecture is famous architecture in Odisha. If you plan to visit this place then I suggest you go early morning. So you can see the first “Surya Kiran”.
4) Ajanta Caves, Maharashtra
Ajanta caves are first World Heritage sites in India. These caves are built in around the 2nd century. This cave is built in two phases one is Satavahana Period and second is Vakataka Period. The Ajanta caves are located in Maharashtra state.

6) Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh
Khajuraho is located in Madhya Pradesh and its unique heritage site in India. Khajuraho is built between 950 to 1050 CE. This temple is connected with Hindus and Jains people.
7) Rock Shelters of Bhimbetka, Madhya Pradesh
Rock Shelters are famous for rock painting. in 2003 the rock shelters are declared Unesco World Heritage Site. In this painting, you can show early human life on the Indian subcontinent. This place is located in Madhya Pradesh.
8) Hampi, Karnataka
Hampi is a UNESCO World Heritage site located in Karnataka. Hampi is an ancient village and kingdom of Vijayanagar. Virupaksha Temple is most popular heritage monument on this site. In Hampi, you can visit some temple like Achyutaraya temple complex, Vitthala temple complex, Krishna temple complex, Narasimha, Ganesa, Hemakuta group of temples.
9) Ellora Caves, Maharashtra
Ellora Caves an important heritage site in Maharashtra. Ellora caves are 29 KM away from Aurangabad. The Ellora Caves was an archaeological site. In this cave there is 34 rock cut temple is existed.
10) Sanchi, Madhya Pradesh
Sanchi is Buddhist Monuments located in Madhya Pradesh and in 1989 this place was declared world heritage sites in India. This heritage is famous for his stupa.A Sanchi stupa was built by King Ashoka.Also, this stupa is built in Buddhist architecture.
11) Bodh Gaya, Bihar
Bodh Gaya has located in around 100 Km from Patna Bihar and Bodh Gaya is UNESCO World Heritage sites in India.Bodh Gaya is a religious centre for the Buddhists.Bodh Gaya is considered the most holiest pilgrimage spot for the Buddhist. In this place, Siddhartha gained his Enlightenment and become a Gautam Buddha.
12) Agra Fort, Uttar Pradesh
Agra Fort is located in Agra Uttar Pradesh and quite close to Taj Mahal. Agra Fort is built by the Mughal empire. Agra fort is totally built from red rock and in this fort you can see Khas Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Diwan-e-Khas, Khas Mahal, Diwan-e-Am, Sheesh Mahal,Diwan-e-Khas, Moti Masjid and Nagina Masjid, Diwan-e-Am, Moti Masjid and Nagina Masjid. These all are the important part of the Agra Fort.
13) Jantar Mantar, Jaipur, Rajasthan
Jantar Mantar is located in Jaipur Rajasthan and it was build in the 18th century. It was built by King Sawai Jai Singh II. And Jantar Mantar construction was completed in 1734. In 2010 UNESCO added Jantar Mantar in World Heritage sites. Jantar Mantar is a collection of 19 astronomical instruments.And all this instrument in this places is man-made.
14) Manas Wild Life Sanctuary, Assam
Manas Wild Life Sanctuary is located in Assam and its world heritage sites declared By UNESCO. In Manas, Project Tiger Reserve help to save the tiger. In this Sanctuary there are many projects are running like project Tiger Reserve, Elephant Reserve, Biosphere Reserve and much more.
15)Humayun’s Tomb, New Delhi
Humayun’s Tomb is World Heritage site and its built by Begum Bega in 1565-1572. This tomb is located in New Delhi and In New Delhi, this places is one of the best places for a spent time who loves historical places.
16) Fatehpur Sikri, Uttar Pradesh
Fatehpur Sikri is a small town in Uttar Pradesh. This place is founded in 1569. This place was founded by Mughal emperor in 16th-century. when the building was constructed Red sandstone rock is used. Also Australian wood was import and its sink in water.
17) Sundarbans National Park, West Bengal
Sundarbans national park is famous for his Bengal tigers. This park is located in West Bengal. Sundarbans national park is one of the largest reserves in India. This park is situated in 1,330 km and this park, is established in 1984. also, this park is listed in World Heritage sites by UNESCO. In this park you can see many wild animals like Bengal tiger, Elephant, wolf, giraffe and much more.
18) Keoladeo National Park, Bharatpur, Rajasthan
Keoladeo National Park is also known as Bharatpur bird Century who located in Agra Jaipur Highway Rajasthan.This Park is established on 10 March 1982. The Keoladeo National Park is listed in world heritage sites by UNESCO. In this park, you can see lots of wild animal and birds.
19) Group of Monuments at Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu
The Group of monuments is located in Fisherman Colony, Mahabalipuram.This groups of monuments are a collection of 7th- and 8th-century. and Mahabalipuram group of monuments is also UNESCO world heritage site. In this place, there are 400 monuments and Hindu Temples. Basically, in this temple, there is four type of temples. one is Ratha temples, Second is Cave temples, third is Structural temples, and the last one is Rock reliefs. Here is the some of the temple list who exist in Mahabalipuram like Kotikal, Ramanuja, Krishna, Adivaraha, ahishasuramardini, Bhima Ratha.
20) Rani Ki Vav, Patan, Gujarat
Rani ki Vav is located in Mohan Nagar society, patan. Rani ki Vav is stepwell who located in the middle of the town. This stepwell was built by Bhimdev I of the Solanki dynasty. in 2014 Rani ki Vav was declared world heritage sites by UNESCO.
21) Kaziranga Wild Life Sanctuary, Assam
Kaziranga Wild Life Sanctuary, Assam
Kaziranga wildlife sanctuary is located in Nagaon districts state in Assam. This wildlife sanctuary is also UNESCO world heritage sites. In this park, you can see lots of wildlife animals and birds. Like Indian rhinoceros, Tigers, Golden langur, Barasingha deer, Rose-ringed parakeets, Asian elephants, Red junglefowl and much more animals and birds.
22) Group of Monuments at Pattadakal, Karnataka
Pattadakal, also known as Pa??adakallu or Raktapura. This UNESCO world heritage site is located in Malaprabha River in Bagalakote district. Also, UNESCO defines this place is “harmonious blend of architectural forms” In this place, there are two major communities temple Hindu’s and Jain’s. In this place, there are 10 major temples and nine is Hindu temple and one is a Jain temple. all Hindu temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva’s.
23) Nanda Devi and Valley of Flowers National Parks, Uttarakhand
Nanda Devi and valley of flowers National park is located in West Himalaya Uttarakhand, India. This World Heritage site is known as its meadows of endemic alpine flowers and the variety of flora.
24) Chola Temples, Tamil Nadu
Chola Temple was built by the kings of the Chola Empire and they stretched over all of south India. Chola Temple is also in a list of UNESCO world heritage sites. This temple was Completed between early 11th and the 12th century.
25) Khangchendzonga National Park, Sikkim
Kanchenjunga National Park is located in Sikkim India. on July 17, 2016, The Kanchenjunga National Park was listed in UNESCO world heritage sites. IN this park you can see flowers and mountains. and if you love trekking and like adventure sports then this park is the perfect choice.
26) Champaner – Pavagadh Archaeological Park, Gujarat
The Champaner Pavagadh Archaeological Park is located in Panchmahal district in Gujarat. this park is around the city of the Champaner. In Champaner there are eleven different types of buildings like temples, mosques, tombs, wells, walls, and terraces. The Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park is also listed in UNESCO world heritage site in India.
27) Churches and Convents of Goa
Churches and Convents of GoaChurches and Convents of goa is UNESCO World heritage site and this name is given by UNESCO. In the fifteenth, The old Goa was founded by the Sultanate of Muslim rulers of Bijapur. all of the churches and convents are build in very a few years back. Today goa is the first choice to go travel in India.
28) Qutb Minar, New Delhi
Qutb Minar is located in Mehrauli, New Delhi. This minar is built in Indo-Islamic architecture style. Qutb Minar is also listed in UNESCO world heritage site in India. This minar hight is 73 m and this is one of the tallest individual towers in the world.
29) Capitol, Chandigarh
Capitol is located in Sector 1, Chandigarh. In 2016 capitol is listed in UNESCO world heritage sites in India. This place is government compound and its design by Le Corbusier. In this building, three monuments have existed one is Palace of Assembly or Legislative Assembly, Secretariat, High Court. On 2016, capitol is added in UNESCO World Heritage Site.
30) Himalayan National Park, Himachal Pradesh
The great Himalaya national park is located in Kullu District, Shamshi. This park was established in 1984. Thia park is one of the Indian National parks and its spared around 1,171 km. The great Himalaya national park was added UNESCO world heritage sites in June 2014. In this park, you can see some birds like Blue-fronted Redstart, Bulbul of Himalayas, and many wild animals. Well, every year many travelers come to this park and spent some quality time with nature. So if you love nature and beautiful atmosphere plan a trip to Himalaya national park.
31) Mountain Railways of India
An Indian railway built a railway line in mountains of India. In this list there is three railway line are listed 1) Darjeeling Himalayan Railway 2) Nilgiri Mountain Railway 3) Kalka–Shimla Railway. All this railway line are built in mountains and it’s an amazing experience to travel in this train. In 1999 The Mountain Railway of India is listed in UNESCO world heritage sites in India.
32) Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Maharashtra
Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus is also known as Victoria Terminus. This railway station is one of the historic railway stations and this station was open in May 1888. This railway station construction was completed in 10 years and this railway station is one of the oldest railway stations in India. Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus is also listed in UNESCO world heritage sites.
33) Nalanda Mahavihara, Bihar
Nalanda Mahavihara is located 95 KM away from Patna, Bihar. This place has become a centre of learning from the fifth century.
34) Elephanta Caves, Maharashtra
Elephant caves are located in Elephanta Island, Maharashtra. Elephanta caves are a collection of caves temple and this is UNESCO world heritage sites in India. This cave is built in rock-cut architecture. This is one of the favorite places of the traveller when they traveling in Maharashtra.

36) Kumbh Mela
Kumbh Mela is also known as Kumbha Mela. Kumbh Mela is one of the Hindu pilgrimages where every year many Hindus gather to bathe in a sacred or holy river. Every year many domestic and Internation travellers are come to participate in Kumbh Mela. Also, this is one of my favorite world heritage sites in India. Kumbh Mela is an amazing experience you must visit this site.
